Notion Integration for notes
Fabian
Kristofer, Sai, Doug, we looked into a potential integration with Notion. The main concern we have is that there is no resource type like a "note" in Notion, so we are uncertain how we would sync Mailbutler notes with Notion. Where would we store the notes etc.
Do you have any idea or suggestion?

Fabian I think that people should have a tasks database or a notes database, and for the notion integration you force people to select the database and the mapping of fields
I have a tasks database that has an url field that would be great with mailbutler

FabianDatabase name: Mailbutler
Purpose:
Collect and organize notes, emails, and ideas you want to save or follow up on, whether they come from Gmail, Apple Mail, or mobile.
Properties:
• Date (Date): When the note or email was created/received
• Source (Select): e.g. Gmail, Apple Mail, Meeting, Phone Call
• Title (Title): Short headline of the note or email
• Note / Content (Text): The main body text, including copied email thread or notes
• Category (Select): e.g. Client, Project, Property, Personal
• Contact / Sender (Text or Person): Name or email of the person who sent or is related to the note
• Link / Reference (URL): Link to Gmail thread, document, or related Notion page
• Status (Select): Open, Saved, Follow Up, Done
• Attachments (Files & media): Files or images related to the note
Automation ideas:
• When an email in Gmail gets the label “Mailbutler”, automatically create a new entry in this database.
Fill in: date, title = subject line, content = email body, contact = sender, link = Gmail thread URL.
• Create templates for “Client Meeting”, “Follow-up Email”, “Project Idea”, etc.
• Connect the Mailbutler database to your Notion / Mailbutler (e.g. Clients or Projects) so notes appear under each related record.

Integrating Mailbutler with Notion
Fabian
Can you please share some more detail how you would envision such an integration to work, Kristofer and Anika?

I want it to work in the same way as Mailbutler does with Evernote, providing a smart and efficient way to organize and coordinate information. Mailbutler is an excellent tool that I use daily, but it currently falls short when it comes to notes. That’s why the connection with Notion is so important to me.
Notion is an app with over 100 million users, so I see an overnight advantage for Mailbutler in creating this integration.

Fabian As I haven’t heard back from you yet, I just wanted to follow up and confirm your position regarding the possibility of adding Notion as an integration within Mailbutler. I, along with many other users, see great value in being able to connect Mailbutler with Notion – both for CRM purposes and project documentation. Notion’s API is also very straightforward (and free to use), which makes the implementation both smooth and accessible.
How are your plans progressing in this area? I’d be happy to contribute with feedback or testing if you decide to move forward with the development.
